York Hotel - Singapore

Really nice overall experience. Charming old hotel in the functional style. Excellent location near Orchard area, in the well kept area. For tea or coffee visit Marriott Cafe nearby. New-fashioned, recently refurbished rooms complete with Super King bed and a lovely view, for instance.

Entrance to lobby is by staircase.

The breakfast was large and warm, the check in was fast.

Magnificent central location very close to shopping location, the heart of Orchard Road and MRT, major shopping malls and lots of food court and food options. There was a signature restaurant nearby. The breakfast looked large and hot, for Indian vegetarian, unfortunately we didn't have time and didn't try it...

It offers great service.

Highly rude front desk staff

The location was very good in relation to the mrt. Staff are very professional and helpful. Expenses may be rather high, as is most of Singapore, but the costs were very transparent.

It was clean and comfortable fairly modern.,and is in walking distance to Orchid rd shopping area.

We asked for 2 rooms with a double beds, one couple receieved single beds after booking 1 month earlier.Also we had a 1 litre bottle of complimentry water in our room. ,and my sisters room had none.

rooms are clean, price are very reasonable, good location for those who want better rate as compare to those alongside orchard road, this hotel is just less than 5 minutes walk to orchard road

It was just a decent option for a swift stopover in Singapore with decent value for money. The staff were friendly, and one even made me laugh with her humor during breakfast. Look for rooms away from busy areas for a quieter experience.

It's position near Orchard Rd. and Paragon shopping mall.

1) We had to change rooms because first they put us in a half of something like a "family room"(two rooms connected with each other by doors). This was unacceptable as we had a little baby and couldn't be disturbed by other guests. More over, the bathroom was totally mouldy and damp. The whole floor (5th floor) actually smelled awkwardly. On our request, they moved us to the 12th floor, separate room, there were much smaller traces of mould. General feeling from the second room was much better. Generally, for relatively high room rate the cleanliness could be improved. 2) Very expensive internet. 3) Breakfast in a lobby with aircon set on "freeze". We couldn't stand the cold, had to choose a different place to have our breakfast.

we arrived very early (9-30am) and after a hour are room was availiable which was excellent service,the room was massive and accomodated 2adults and 2 children with ease,we choose the family tower room 1 king size and one sofa bed that the kids slept on with ease (7 and 5 yr old),we had no probs getting a taxi to anywhere ,and only 5mins to orchard road ,would stay again.

the only problem was the breakfast was expensive we only used it once walked down to orchard road far cheaper and nicer food.

Helpful and polite staff, particularly at the front desk. The family room was spacious, clean, and well-stocked, with fresh bottled water daily and an amazing breakfast buffet. Some staff at the entrance did not assist with doors, inconvenient, especially when managing luggage. The older accommodation is well-maintained, but it does show signs of age.
